Miss City of Orange 2012: Miss Ventura County 2012!

People may or may not have known this, but before competing and become Miss City of Orange 2012 I was lucky enough to be Miss Ventura County 2011! It was an amazing time being Miss Ventura County and last night was their pageant where they crowned the new Miss Ventura County 2012!

The Ventura committee invited me to come and participate in the pageant as Miss City of Orange and former Miss Ventura County, which was such an honor! I had so much fun working with the contestants backstage and helping them with their hair and makeup. They all looked absolutely stunning and are such a talented group of young women. It was nice for me to relax knowing I wasn't competing, but I could feel their anxiety. During the show I was given the opportunity to perform my talent piece from last year's Miss California and also performed a fun upbeat musical theatre number. I loved performing on that stage again and I hope I get invited back for more guest performances!

I was so glad that I was able to participate in the crowning of the new Miss Ventura County and Miss Ventura County's Outstanding Teen. My teen, Olivia, and I had such an amazing time together and created a bond that goes beyond our titles. She became like a little sister to me and someone I looked up to at times because she is so wise beyond her years. I still can't believe she was 13 when I met her, and now I see how she has blossomed into a lovely young lady at 14! She will definitely be going on to great things and I can't wait to cheer her on at her next pageant and in life.

Crowning the new Miss Ventura County 2012 was fantastic! It just so happens that the young lady who I was lucky enough to crown is also one of my close friends, KAYLA BAILEY!!!!!!!!!!! She is a lovely person and I am so happy for her! Ironically I had also crowned her as Miss Moorpark 2009, guess history repeats itself!!! Again, congrats to all of the contestants and the new titleholders, you all are amazing and beautiful!!!!
