State of the City Address

This afternoon I was privileged enough to attend the annual State of the City Address with the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Orange Mayor Carolyn Cavecche. The event welcomed hundreds of business owners throughout Orange and I was lucky enough to sit with representatives from California Edison and members of the Doubletree Hilton Hotel! During the luncheon, members of the Orange Chamber of Commerce spoke very eloquently about our lovely city and how much they have worked to improve areas such as the railroad and popular intersections.

They also announced the Citizen of the year award which was proudly granted to Bill Catache as this year's Citizen of the year! His bio includes work for state and federal officials and has done numerous events throughout Orange and is a great supporter of our city. He definitely deserved this award and he is such a kind man!

The Mayor also gave her last State of the City Address where she made the analogy of the city of Orange to a garden. We must take care of our garden and help it to grow and although there are weeds we need to pull, something beautiful always comes out of the hard work. Mayor Carolyn Cavecche also presented a short video that was filmed by Chapman Students about the city of Orange. It truly was a beautiful thing to witness and it really made me fall in love with Orange all over again.

"A leader is someone who brings out the best in others, is full of integrity, and is not afraid to make difficult decisions." Quote from Laurie Weidner, Chairman of the board Orange Chamber of Commerce when describing Mayor Carolyn Cavecche.

Had the pleasure of meeting Senator Mimi Walters!

Don Henley, proud supporter of Chapman!        Former President of the Chamber!

Our new Citizen of the year!!!                       With the lovely Mayor Carolyn Cavecche
